The concept
Art Route-Leuven:
the ultimate art event in the historical city of Leuven
The 5th edition of Art Route Leuven will take place during the weekend of May 1st and 2nd 2010. Like in the former editions, about 40 artists in Leuven are opening their studio, the place where the magic happens, for a large interested public.
This event is a unique opportunity to taste the inspiring atmosphere that reigns in the studio of a professional artist. You will be a witness of everything that happens behind the screens. In the selected studios, the visitors not only will be able to see many things, but they will also be given a lot of interesting information. This is what gives a unique touch to Art Route Leuven. You can really talk to the artists and ask them all kinds of questions about their works of art, about their muses and about how their creations come to life.
The success of Art Route Leuven does not rely on coincidence, but on its varied, open and personal character. Proof of this are the yearly 20.000 visits to the studios. This concept is intrinsically related to the cultural agenda of Leuven city.
To the great joy of the faithful lovers of Art Route Leuven we welcome this year 17 new professional artists from different disciplines. So, an expanding choice of artists and of art disciplines is open to everyone, from the die-hard art connoisseur to the outsider. Anyone can enjoy the variety of artistic expressions: from sculpture, painting, photography, art installations and artistic experiments to jewelry, glass art and ceramics.
Traditionally, many participants are turning this event into a real party. In their studios you are offered a drink and a snack, you can enjoy live music and you can even try your hand at some artistic activity, guided by the master.
All 41 studios will be open continuously on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
Guided by a handsome folder, including a route map and information on all participating artists and their art works, the visitor will be able to schedule his route from one studio to the other and to determine the order of his visits. Form the historic centre or the railway station of Leuven you can easyly explore the art studios by car, bike or by foot.
Practical
Art Route Leuven 2010 takes place on May 1st and 2nd 2010 from
10 am till 6 pm in and around the historical city of Leuven.
Entrance to the studios is free of charge.
